When things are going good, it’s easy to hold my head up. When times are tough, when I’m feeling overwhelmed, when I’m doubtful it’s hard to stay motivated. When things are difficult, it’s easy to get angry and say “I just don’t care anymore”.
If I’m feeling spiritually empty in Recovery, I appreciate that I can’t control the events in my life. What I can control is the meaning I associate to those events. What I have influence over is who I surround myself with.
Living life on life’s terms doesn’t get any easier, I just get stronger. Challenges don’t happen “to” me, they happen “for” me. Difficult times help me grow outside of my comfort zone.
Gratitude of the day: I’m thankful for having my “A -Team” in my corner. I know I can count on them when I need them the most.
Action of the day: Today I will prepare for the trauma of success.
